Dan + Heather's Green Door Gourmet Wedding
How happy I was when the call came in from my friend Heather! I had not heard from her in a few years and to say I was excited to hear she was getting married and wanted us to do her florals for the wedding would be an understatement!
Any wedding at Green Door Gourmet is going to be beautiful! There are so many fields of flowers for the bride to run through. Who wouldn’t love that? We love Green Door’s environmentally friendly and sustainable farming practice.
After our first meeting to develop Heather’s design for her wedding day I knew it would be beautiful! Descriptive colors like champagne, peaches, creams, and buttery……. my mouth was watering and I was ready to start building!
On the actual wedding day a florist’s hope is the bride loves her bouquet! When I brought Heather’s bouquet up to her she was taken over by emotion. There were tears of joy. When a bride cries because they love the bouquet you know you nailed it.
The fun definitely began when our team spied the parasols Heather bought for the day for guests to use if the sun was too hot. The day was so hot she decided to bring the ceremony inside so no one would melt! That meant we could use the umbrellas as props. We went to work to incorporate them in the arbor with the florals. Our team was having so much fun letting our creative juices flow!

Some of the flowers we used were Cafe’ Au Lait dahlias, Keira garden roses, Purity garden roses, white O’hara garden roses, Coral Charm peonies, light pink peonies, Cherry brandy roses, Creme de La Creme roses, Quicksand roses, Tiffany roses, White Majolica spray roses, white veronica, pink wax flower, white wax flower, blue thistle, dusty miller, plumosus, Italian ruscus, silver dollar eucalyptus and macho ferns.
